Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business | Annual subscription | 1 User | 15 Devices

What problems does Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business solve?

Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business is an annual subscription in which you buy the Microsoft 365 Business Standard licence and the separate Copilot Business add-on together. You get the Office apps, Teams and Exchange email, plus Copilot, the AI assistant that works in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. That solves one specific problem: Copilot Business only works on top of an eligible Microsoft 365 licence. Anyone buying the two separately has to work out which licence qualifies and purchase both apart. In this package it is all included, so your team can start with AI without first untangling the licences.

Who is Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business for?

Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business suits small and medium businesses that work with Microsoft 365 every day and produce a lot of emails, documents and presentations. Think of sales, marketing, administration and HR teams, and anyone who regularly needs to gather, summarise or process information. If you want a productivity boost without rolling out extra software, this is a logical choice.

When is Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business not the best choice?

Do your people barely touch Word, Outlook or Excel, or does your organisation run mainly on specialist software? Then you will get limited value from the Copilot features. In that case, Microsoft 365 Business Standard without Copilot is probably a better fit. And if you expect AI to deliver finished work with no oversight, bear in mind that human review stays part of the process.

Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard or Premium + Copilot Business: which fits you?

Three paths, depending on what your team needs:

• Choose Microsoft 365 Business Basic + Copilot Business if you mainly work in the web versions of Office, Teams and Outlook. Copilot then works in the web apps, Teams and Outlook, but not in the desktop versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, because Basic does not include desktop apps.
• Choose Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business if you want the full desktop Office apps with Copilot built in. That is this package.
• Choose Microsoft 365 Business Premium + Copilot Business if you also want advanced security such as Microsoft Defender, Intune device management and advanced access management.

Tested by 2GO Software: Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business

We tested Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business on 15 September 2026 on a Windows laptop, with Copilot Business active on a Business Standard licence.

What stood out when we used Microsoft 365 Business Standard + Copilot Business

What struck us right away: it just works. Once we had assigned both licences in the tenant, we could start straight away, no hassle. Copilot quickly felt like a colleague looking over your shoulder. The best moment was when it found and combined information from our own Microsoft 365 files, so we no longer had to search endlessly. That genuinely saves time on the repetitive work. And a nice touch: it handles English naturally.

Where it helped us most:

• In Outlook it drafted a tidy email in seconds, summarised long email threads and rewrote text in the tone we wanted.
• In Word it created a first draft from a short instruction, summarised long documents and polished our writing for grammar and readability.
• In Excel it helped with formulas and data analysis, and explained complicated tables in plain language.
• In PowerPoint it put together a first presentation from an existing document, so you never start with a blank screen.

To be fair: you get out what you put in. The clearer your instruction, the better the result, and getting used to asking the right questions is part of it. With complex documents or very specific business processes, Copilot sometimes missed context, so you stay involved to check. For us that is not a downside but a plus: Copilot takes on the heavy lifting, you keep control.
